We help out customers become greener

Our training programmes make sure that all management and supervisory staff use the correct equipment, follow the right procedures and working practices, and are aware of the environmental implications of our customers’ tasks. Our Directors champion our efforts to make sure that we address the cleaning industry’s sustainability philosophy. For example, all the chemicals we use comply with strict environmental controls.

Greener suppliers

We are committed to working with suppliers who ensure that their manufacturing and packaging procedures produce environmentally friendly products. We only use suppliers who support our efforts to become greener.

Some of our initiatives include:

• Adopting hybrid cars as part of our fleet
• Training personnel to BICSc standards for efficient use of solutions
• Training all our staff in environmental awareness
• Recycling all cardboard, paper and cleaning machinery batteries
• Using hand trigger sprays rather than aerosols
• Using pH neutral products
• Using biodegradable vacuum bags and viscose cloths that degrade more readily than cotton
• Recycling the containers and packaging of cleaning materials
• Purchasing cleaning products in ‘ready to mix’ form to reduce the size and amount of packaging needed
• Monitoring energy and water consumption in all the equipment we buy

Environmental Policy

For every cleaning contract that we sign we commit to planting an additional 5 trees in our city.

Trees for Cities

Trees bring real benefits to our cities, health and wellbeing. The effects of climate change are already being felt. We’re experiencing warmer, wetter winters, and hotter, drier summers, creating higher temperatures in our cities. Climate change has caused an increase in pests and diseases, which had never previously affected the UK. The impact has been an unprecedented threat to some iconic tree species, including ash, horse Chesnut and oak.

By planting thousands of urban trees worldwide each year, Trees for Cities is building resilience against threats facing the natural environment. Planting a range of tree species enhances structural and functional diversity in woodlands and on city streets, as well as building resistance to pests and disease.

Each year London’s trees remove 2.4 million tonnes of air pollution, including carbon dioxide, dust and other gaseous toxins and as such, it has become our resolution to help increase this. For every cleaning contract that we sign we commit to planting an additional 5 trees in our city.
